Nothing puts a smile on a builder's dial quite like seeing a familiar face stroll back into the House of Simple Pleasures. Especially when it belongs to one of our favourite clients.

We kicked things off with coffee and the kind of conversations that make you late to leave, courtesy of SejiwaCoffee. We then hit the streets, a rolling parade of 2 wheeled machines  through the city of Bandung before landing at nrd.laboratory for the afternoon.

Our first Jakarta, Deus Kumpul-Kumpul Ride 2026 certainly lived up to its name, attracting riders from across the entire Jabodetabek. People began to gather at Taman Menteng from before 3 PM, despite the heavy rain that had punctuated the morning and early afternoon. Much to our relief, riders kept arriving, filling the area with an enthusiastic crowd with their kaleidoscope of custom motorcycles, Vespas, and the perennial crowd-pleasing classics.

It didn’t seem possible that a full twelve months had passed, but there we were again, dressed entirely unsuitably for tropical weather and waving the flag for men’s mental health.

Celebrating fifteen years globally, this year’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Bali delivered the sort of route that makes you forget you’re sitting on a hot motorcycle in too many layers.

Developed through the partnership between Zagato and La Squadra, the AGTZ Twin Tail reimagines the spirit of endurance racing through contemporary coachbuilding. For this special one-off, Deus was invited to complete the project with a hand-drawn exterior livery by the brands Creative Director Carby Tuckwell.

Nestled in the eastern armpit of Bali is a trio of islets, the Nusa’s… Lembongan, Ceningan and Penida. It’s a place where days drift by on pale white sand and afternoons are punctuated by debates around dinner plans.

The Deus Kumpul Kumpul End of Year Ride has become something of a fixture on the calendar for riders across Bali. And we outdid ourselves with this last one when hundreds of riders from every corner of Bali turned up.

Heralding from a thirty-year lineage, this 1998 CB400SF was rescued in Java and reborn with a single purpose: to become a proper weekly rider. Lifted in stance and sharpened in spirit, the Viridis Viator, the Green Traveller, lives for clean lines, quiet power, and the long way inland.

The ambition for this Kawasaki W800 was simple: dial down the stock noise, while creating something that was subtly custom, runs clean, while building something that wouldn’t look wildly out of place doing the sacred scoot down to Bondi for an overpriced long black. 

This year’s playground was Pantai Kelecung, raw, remote, and still clinging to the Bali of old. Coconut palms, undulating black sand beach, riverbanks, and open fields formed our trackside theatre. This wasn't a doddle, this was a test of dirt and devotion.

Introducing The Chamber of Eternal Combustion, located in the heart of Seongsu-dong: story after story of apparel, hospitality, and entertainment. This one has opened with a certain aplomb, and the cause is anyone’s guess (though we have our suspicions). Our newest flagship space has shape-shifted into something curated and exciting - a rich embodiment of everything we’re uniquely proud of at Deus.
